A Haunting
I couldn't find any Halloween-esque photos to publish for today, so I chose one that is appropriate in terms of color and attitude. This is a friend of mine I often do photoshoots with.

Thistle
I thought this thistle was photo-worthy. Although I wish I had gotten out there when the thistles were still blooming!
40% contrast increase.

Waiting
I took this picture when I went for a walk in a place I call "the neighborhood across the street". It's really an area across from my neighborhood that was started and ran out of funding after they got it cleared out and paved. It's a little sad that they tore out all the trees and everything, but I suppose on the bright side it's still a very pretty place.
Added text, used perspective tool to tilt, and increased transparency.
Increased contrast and color saturation.

Joyous!
This is yet another friend of mine that was in one of my photoshoots. I love how happy he looks!

Get That Camera Away From Me!
This is my kitty, Nina. She is quite the stinker. Every time I put a camera in her face she goes from being adorable and fluffy to evil-eyed with ears laid back. Maybe one day I'll manage to catch her good side. :)

Anyone Missing Some Shoes?
This was not taken with my camera. Credit to Heather and Matt Cosgrave for letting me borrow their professional camera for a while. ;)
I found these sandals by a river near my friend's house and liked the way they looked in the street lights. I rather like how it turned out.
You see a lot of people leave their shoes places. I find it rather hard to forget my shoes... XD

Cracks and Silhouettes
I took this of the road just beside the curb, where some fern-like plants towered over me. I like the mixture of textures this shot produced.

Sky High
Yes, I've realized by now that most of my post titles are particularly cheesy. Oh well!
Anyway, I went to a nice little nature-y area and found a field of dead thistles that inspired me to get creative with the angle of my shooting.

Dragonfly
This little guy was one of my most cooperative models ever! :) I was really surprised that he let me get so close to him, but then again I had to move very, very slowly...

Floral Radiation
I took this of an odd-looking flowering plant I had and decided it could be good for some interesting edits. :)

Sunset Over the...Table?
This was a varnished wood table at a pizza restaurant I went to. I happened to have my camera on me and I happened to be really bored, so I shot the table. It turned out rather neat looking, what with all the light reflections.
Increased orange saturation and darkness.

Barn Life
We found a barn near my house, clearly abandoned and containing a scattered array of ancient barn paraphernalia. Among them were old, rusty farm tools and a pile of tires. The barn is gorgeous in appearance and structure, but a tree smashed a hole in a corner of the roof and I suspect this is why the barn is unused. Here are a couple of pictures I took of the barn. Some turned out rather blurry, but I liked the effect.
First four images: gradient mapped. (Gradients in order of photos.)

Compare and Contrast
Which do you like better? I decided to show a simple before and after shot of an edited photo.
Here is the original black and white, with a slight contrast adjustment:

Just Chillin'
This is a plastic tub that I found in my yard. It was partly filled with rain water and leaves and contained a small flower pot and this clay frog. I found his attitude very attractive. ;)

Bee-Friend
I wanted to post a nature shot, and I recently got a good picture of this little carpenter bee, so the timing was nice. Carpenter bees are cute, but they're annoying little pests too!
Cropped and slightly increased contrast.

March of the Pink Worms
I often have camera adventures where I use only my 'fireworks' setting. (This setting enables the camera to keep the shutter open for longer, exposing light and creating very abstract patterns. It's best used at night with isolated lights, hence the term 'fireworks' setting.)
This one was of a few rows of lights hanging outside my house (taken at night). I like the formation of this picture, but I also couldn't help but laugh because they reminded me of little worms. :)

Gradient mapped. I settled on pink since I hadn't put any pink stuff up yet.

Don't Leave
Another moving car photo. You can tell I get bored in cars a lot. :)
Added text, tilted with perspective tool, and used brush, clone, and transparency tools to add the grass over the text.

A Questionable Doubt
Here's a sepia shot that I took in a car. The slanted angles inspired me to edit it.
Decreased brightness, added text, used perspective tool to tilt text, and added grass in front of the bottom sentence.

Can't Let Go
This was just another random photo taken while I was in the car. I liked how desolate it turned out, so I decided to edit it.
Gradient mapped, added font + font edits.
(In case you're curious, the font effect I primarily used here was a new technique I discovered: using the Noise tool. This is why most of the text looks so pixely in the photo.)

Nostalgia
Who knows why, but this picture makes me feel nostalgic. It gives me a faraway feeling, as if it's some other world instead of my own back yard.
Decreased brightness.

Scion?
This photo totally reminds me of a rad Scion commercial. Don'tcha think so?
Captured using my camera's 'fireworks' setting.
